Every February...
We celebrate the famous African American men and women that have played important roles throughout history and present-day. Since 1976, every U.S. president has declared the month of February to be Black History Month. The reason February was chosen is because it is the month in which Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass have birthdays.

Black History Month is an important celebration because it allows us to dedicate this time to those who have done admirable things and deserve to be recognized as playing a key role in the United States' history.

It is a time to share stories, have open dialogue, learn more about those who help make this country as great as it can possibly be!
